My name is Toby Schwartz, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore your story together. I use a warm, empathic, conversational approach to help you uncover your strengths and build a life that feels authentic to you.

My clinical approach is rooted in extensive academic rigor and a deep commitment to specialized care. After earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Brooklyn College and my Master of Social Work from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, I have continued my journey toward clinical excellence as a Doctoral Candidate at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work (Expected 2027).

Beyond my formal degrees, I have dedicated myself to understanding the complexities of the human experience through advanced training in Trauma Studies at the National Institute of Psychotherapies and Eating Disorders, Compulsions, and Addictions at The William Alanson White Institute. To provide a non weight focused approach toward eating disorder work, I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I have learned to deepen trauma work by training in EMDR at the EMDR Institute. I integrate these specialties to provide holistic, evidence-based support for my clients.

To ensure my clients receive the highest quality of care, I stay deeply connected to the professional community. I am proud to be a member of National Association of Social Workers, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Academy for Eating Disorders, the Clinical Social Work Association, and New York State Society for Clinical Social Workers.
